What I collect
Information you give me. When you fill in a form on this site, to request the research guide, join a waitlist, or send an enquiry, I collect what you enter. That is usually your email address, and sometimes your name and a short message.
Information collected automatically. Like most sites, this one records basic technical data through analytics and server logs: pages viewed, the site that referred you, approximate location from your IP address, and your browser and device type. I use this in aggregate to understand which content is useful.
How I use it
To reply to you and send the specific thing you asked for. To send occasional updates about SEO, new research, and products, but only if you opted in, and only until you unsubscribe. And to operate, secure, and improve the site. I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.
Who processes data for me
Running the site and its email involves a few trusted service providers, for example website hosting, contact-form and email delivery, newsletter software, analytics, and payment processing for products. These providers only handle data as needed to do their job. Payment card details are handled by the payment processor and are never stored on this site.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses cookies and similar technology for basic functionality and analytics. You can control or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may change how parts of the site work.
How long data is kept
Contact and subscriber information is kept while it is useful for the purpose you gave it, or until you ask me to delete it or you unsubscribe. Aggregate analytics may be kept longer in a form that does not identify you.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message. You can also ask to see the personal information I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. To do any of these, email hello@jonchanseo.com and I will respond.
Security
I take reasonable measures to protect the information collected here. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so I cannot promise absolute security.
Children
This site is meant for professionals and is not directed to children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
